year many festivals are celebrated here.
With long-standing culture and ancient folk
art, they have integrated the traditional
folk way with modern civilization. The Spring
Flower Fair and Dragon Boat Race are permeated
with strong local features.
Guangdong (Cantonese) music is fluent and
beautiful with fresh and sprightly rhythm.
The melodies are graceful and moving. The
Cantonese opera with a long history has
integrated dreams of many folk arts. The
drawing techniques of the ancient with the
modern, the domestic with the foreign. The
representative persons are Gao Jianfu, Gao
Qifeng and Chen Shuren, "the three
outstanding men of Lingnan". The Lingnan
potted landscape is one of the five schools
of the art with beauty of nature, vivid
and poetic. The Western and Chinese architectures
can be found in Lingnan. The uniquely designed
Lingnan Garden, the Guangzhou acrobat are
