The Elephant Trunk Hill
The Elephant Trunk Hill : Situated at the joint of Lijiang and Yangjiang Rivers, the Elephant Trunk Hill, as its name suggests, looks like a giant elephant drinking water with its trunk.Half way up the hill there is a cave which goes through the hill and serves as the eyes of the "elephant".
Between the trunk and the legs is a still bigger cave with the shape of a bright moon hanging over the river, hence the name "Moon-over-Water Cave".On the top of the hill is a pagoda, named Puxian Pagoda, erected in the Ming Dynasty, which resembles a sword hilt,or a magic vase. The Elephant Trunk Hill is commonly regarded as the emblem of Guilin.

Wave Curbing Hill: The Fubo Hill stands solitarily in the northeast of the city, with half of it in the Li River. On the eastern side of the hill are a winding corridor facing the river,a teahouse and a "Tingtao (Listening to the Waves)Pavilion" built along the cliff of the hill. On the west side,a flight of stone steps leads to the Kuishui Pavilion which is half way up the hill, and then to the top.At the foot of the hill are the "Pearl-returning Cave"and "A Thousand Buddhas Cave".In the "Pearl-returning Cave",there hangs from the ceiling a rock which nearly touches the ground.
Legend has it that once a general name Fu Po tested his sword by cutting what was originally a stone pillar and has left a crevice at the bottom ever since then.In the "One Thousand Buddhas Cave",there are in fact 200 Buddhas statues.Because of the beautiful sight and its peculiar caves, the hill is praised highly as "Fu Po Resort".

Seven Star Park: The Seven Star Park, in the east of Guilin, is situated by the side of the Seven Star Hill, where is also the location of the Seven star cave, hence the name. In Guilin, it is the biggest park with an area of 40 hectares and the best natural surroundings. And in the park, there are such well-known tourist spots as the Guilin Stelae Forest, Bonsai Garden, Zoo, Flower Bridge, Putuo Hill, Seven Star Cave, Moon Cave and Camel Hill.

Guilin Stele Forest : There are about 2,000 pieces of stone carvings and inscriptions in Guilin, of which about 100 are in the Dragon Refuge Cave. Departments and units in charge of protecting historical relics have built an exhibition hall at the entrance of the cave and put on display some rubbed version of the carvings and inscriptions collected from stelae in other hills and caves. The exhibits have topics ranging from politics to history, science and calligraphy, so that the cave and the hall are linked into a seemingly natural oneness, which is designated as "Guilin Stelae Forest".Among the most famous and precious inscriptions are "The Membership Roster of Yuan You Group" (Yuan You. Song Emperor from 1086-1094), "Meizhi On Five Miasmata", and "Eulogy to Five Gentlemen by Huang Ting-jian".

Camel Hill: Within the Seven Star Park, this 20-m-high hill resembles a crouching camel.

Fir Lake Fair Lake : In the center of Guilin proper is a famous park in which the lake is separated into two parts by the Yangqiao Bridge: the east is called the Fir Lake, and the west the Banyan Lake
