Established 30 years ago by the Government, Bagan Thiripyitsaya Sakura Hotel is situated on the banks of the Ayeyarwaddy River. In 1995, ownership and management were taken over by the Sakura Group of Japan. Thiripyitsaya has since then undergone extensive renovation, upgrading and expansion.

Bagan Thiripyitsaya Sakura Hotel is considered to be Bagan's premier four-star hotel. Aside from attractively appointed bedrooms and suites, it offers world-class cuisine and other amenities such as a Spa and the biggest outdoor pool and sundeck in the area.
